Rubal’s father was a bodybuilder himself, back in the days. And is a part of the Delhi police still. Ever since Rubal was a child, his father has guided and persuaded him for getting into bodybuilding. His father believed, that a happy life comes from a healthy body. And hence, led Rubal into the bodybuilding and fitness industry. However, the journey has not been easy.
Back in 2009, a few weeks prior to his physical test for Delhi police entrance, Rubal underwent mouth surgery. Back then, he was disheartened and afraid. The doctors ran him through some tests, to check any possibilities of mouth cancer or other problems. Rubal for a few weeks away from starting a new phase in his life, but already had to face a setback. After the surgery, he couldn’t appear for the physical test. However, Rubal never gave up. He had his father by his side, who motivated him, and helped him get back stronger. The next year, 2010, Rubal came back for the fitness test and comfortably passed with flying colors.
“In 2009, I had mouth surgery. After the surgery, one of my nerves got damaged, and half of my face was paralyzed, one of my eyes always stayed open, never shut. I lost all of my hair, due to the heavy medicinal doses. Till 6 months after the surgery, I couldn’t eat any solid food, due to my mouth being sealed, for recovery. All I could consume was liquids. Not protein, but dal water, and people tell me I’ve built my body through steroids”
“Even so, I never gave up. The doctor told me that it would be a difficult road to recovery. I had already started working out, a few months post-surgery, even though the doctor had suggested me not to. Fortunately enough, my body and mind recovered, due to muscle memory. Physically and mentally, I felt better. There was still an income shortage in my family at that time. I recovered quickly and went on to join the Delhi police next year. Then I went on to become a Roadie, to portray my story, and earn a name for myself. Now, I will keep working hard, towards my dream”, stated Rubal in his Instagram post.
